Inevitable collects stories about death and the meaning of life. Sometimes humorous and sometimes horrific, these tales are meant to provoke reflection on what it means to be human in an increasingly chaotic world.
Issue #1 collects two short stories. In The Suicide Artist, a man has decided to end his life by jumping from the roof of thirty story building. Somehow he wakes up on the concrete unharmed afterwards. Onlookers gasp in amazement and delight at his feat as the man succumbs to confusion and despair. Does he try again or find new meaning for himself? In Bardo, a loving father and dutiful husband dies in a freak traffic accident. In the afterlife he finds himself in a grey and decaying forest that refuses to let him leave. As he begins to review his life, he is confronted by a long buried memory that reframes everything he knows.
